BOTOX ® Cosmetic is used for forehead, glabella, and around the eye wrinkles. This works by relaxing the muscles that cause wrinkles. Results will not be apparent for 1-2 weeks after injection and last 2-4 months. Some patients with very deep, persistent wrinkles should consider filler in these areas as well. Dysport is also available. We will recommend what’s best for you.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium. It is a nonsurgical, physician-administered treatment that can temporarily reduce moderate to severe frown lines between the brows in people 18 to 65 years of age. During treatment, very low doses of it are administered via a few tiny injections directly into the muscles that cause those stubborn lines. The treatment is usually done in about 10 minutes, and no recovery time is needed. Within 4-7 days, you may see an improvement that can last up to 4-6 months. Results may vary.
Those moderate to severe frown lines between your brows form over time as the result of muscle activity. It is injected directly into the muscles between your brows. It works by blocking the transmission of nerve impulses to the injected muscles; this reduces the activity of the muscles that cause those persistent lines to form.
Within 4-7 days, you may see a marked improvement in the moderate to severe frown lines between your brows. Lines continue to improve for up to a month, and results can last for up to 4 months. In clinical trials, nearly 90% of men and women rated the improvement in their appearance as moderate to better 1 month after treatment. Results may vary.
Results from treatment with BOTOX® Cosmetic can last for up to 4 months. If you discontinue treatment, the frown lines between your brows gradually will look like they did before treatment.
Dermatologists are more experienced and can help you decide if BOTOX® Cosmetic is right for you.
Discomfort is usually minimal and brief. Prior to injecting, your physician may choose to numb the area with a cold pack or anesthetic cream. The entire procedure takes approximately 10 minutes. Many people are in and out of the physician’s office without downtime following BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment.
BOTOX® Cosmetic should not be used in the presence of infection at the proposed injection site(s) and in individuals with known hypersensitivity to any ingredient in the formulation. Patients with neuromuscular disorders such as ALS, myasthenia gravis or Lambert-Eaton syndrome may be at increased risk of serious side effects.
The most common side effects following injection include temporary eyelid droop and nausea. Localized pain, infection, inflammation, tenderness, swelling, redness, and/or bleeding/bruising may be associated with the injection. Patients with certain neuromuscular disorders such as ALS, myasthenia gravis, or Lambert-Eaton syndrome may be at increased risk of serious side effects.
Although the results are visible, a treatment with BOTOX® Cosmetic will not radically change your facial appearance or make you look as if you “had work done.” The muscle activity that causes frown lines between the brows is simply reduced, so you can still frown or look surprised without the wrinkles and creases between your brows.
If you do not continue treatments, the moderate to severe frown lines between your brows will gradually look like they did before treatment.
WHAT IS DYSPORT?
Dysport is a filler for your frown lines. Natural-looking. Fast-acting. Long-lasting. Don’t let your frown lines between your eyebrows define you.
For adults who want a natural look, Dysport is a natural-looking, fast-acting and long-lasting prescription injection proven to help smooth moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows—without changing the look or movement of the rest of your face. Dysport is approved in 69 countries and has 25 years of clinical experience worldwide. 97% of women treated with Dysport say they’d do it again.
How does Dysport work?
One injection. Five points. Dysport temporarily treats moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows by reducing specific muscle activity. Wrinkles are caused by repeated movements and muscle contractions. One injection into each of the 5 points between and above the eyebrows temporarily prevents muscle contractions that cause frown lines. In other words: natural-looking results that look and feel like you.
You’ve got better things to do than think about what your frown lines look like. The majority of users see improvement in just 2-3 days after treatment. In just one 10- to 20-minute treatment, Dysport may help improve the look of your frown lines between the eyebrows for up to 5 months. Results of repeat treatments may be comparable to your first use. Another plus? There is minimal downtime after your treatment, which means you can get back to your day faster.

Neuromodulators for Treatment of Hyperhidrosis
You need to sweat to keep your body’s temperature under control in hot surroundings or during vigorous exercise. Hyperhidrosis occurs when the sweating exceeds the body’s needs. The underarms, feet, and hands are the areas most commonly affected by this disorder. Many forms of treatment can successfully stop hyperhidrosis.
Sweating and lack thereof confirmed by a starch iodine test. Sweating is indicated by a dark color change..
Fortunately, a number of treatment methods are available including prescription antiperspirants, iontophoresis, BOTOX® or Dysport injections, oral medications, and surgery.
If topical agents haven’t cured your severe underarm sweating, neuromodulators can help. Neuromodulator reatment blocks chemical signals to the sweat glands. Overactive sweat glands stop producing so much sweat when the glands don’t receive the chemical signals.
Most patients respond for up to 6 months. Some need another treatment in 3 months while others go 6-8 months. This is not a cure; the symptoms will come back sooner or later, and you will realize when it is the correct time for a follow-up treatment.
