Halo by SCITON

What is Halo?

Halo is a technique that aims to restore the youthful glow by targeting skin damage at the right depth. Unlike previous laser treatments, Halo promises great results with minimal down time.

With Halo, patients do not have to choose between a procedure with fast recovery but gives mediocre results or one that offers great results but requires a lengthy recovery. Since the treatment is highly customizable to fit the skin type and needs of each patient, the technique allows the dermatologist to do a light treatment that creates smooth, vibrant skin that can be ready for makeup the next day or a more intense treatment that will give the patient a youthful glow with only a few days of down time.

How many treatments will I need?

It depends on you! The advantage of undergoing Halo is that patients get to decide how many treatments they will have. You also have an option to go for a couple of aggressive treatments or spread it out to many light treatments. For best results, have your trusted Charlotte dermatologist check your skin type and discuss with her the results you want to achieve.

FAQs

About thirty minutes to an hour prior to the treatment, your clinician may place a topical anesthetic to reduce discomfort during the treatment. The area will then me measured with a motion tracking technology to ensure even treatment of the full area. After this, your clinician will treat each measured section by uniformly rolling the Halo hand piece over the skin until the system recognizes that the treatment is complete.

Since a topical anesthetic and integrated cooling technology are applied, patients do not usually experience discomfort. Most patients describe feeling heat with occasional prickling sensations. About 15 to 30 minutes after treatment, patients report still feeling warm over the treated area. This warm feeling may linger a bit longer

It is important to keep your skin protected for the first 24 hours after your treatment. After this period, you can go about your normal activities. Expect your skin to peel during the first 24 hours, but you can already put on makeup.

For a facial treatment, you will only see very little change on the first day. A light bronzing appearance will develop after two to three days. On day three or four, your skin will peel and reveal your new skin beneath.

Initial results will show between two and five days after your Halo treatment. The appearance of your skin will continue to improve over time, with the greatest pigmentary improvement in the first two to three weeks. Dermal regeneration will follow, which will continue to improve for months.

Halo results last for years with proper skin care and protection. Each Halo treatment you get will improve the results, hence giving you better looking skin.

Since every Halo treatment is customized for each patient’s skin type and lifestyle, your clinician will recommend either a single treatment or a series of treatments. To know the best option for you, it is best to consult with your trusted skin care provider.

Treating Your Skin

Laser resurfacing has emerged as the most effective way to treat a wide variety of skin conditions. Resurfacing eliminates old, damaged skin, which is replaced with fresh, healthy skin. Some lasers deliver their energy over the entire surface area of a treatment site (which may be optimal for certain types of conditions). Other lasers deliver “fractional” energy to just a portion of the skin (which may be optimal for a different set of conditions). With a Sciton JOULETM/HALO, you can have it all.

Unlike full field resurfacing which removes the entire surface area of the treatment site, Halo ablates narrow-diameter channels into the skin, covering a fraction of the total treatment area. This action initiates the body’s wound healing response while leaving the surrounding tissue intact for rapid healing. The benefits include increased patient comfort, shorter healing times, and tunable results that can range from subtle to dramatic.

You can combine therapy depending on what you need.

  • MicroLaserPeel + Halo: to help skin look healthier and more vibrant, along with targeting conditions that exist deeper in the skin.
  • BBL + Halo: reduces acne, removes hair and allows treatment of various conditions
  • BBL + MicroLaserPeel+Halo: These three treatments are unique and complimentary, and used in combination to produce superior cosmetic results.
