PROVEN & EFFECTIVE

Chemical Peels

Chemical peeling is a proven and effective method for skin rejuvenation. An active solution is applied to the surface of the skin which causes the superficial layer to peel off. The treatment exposes a new layer of healthy undamaged skin, resulting in a smoother texture and a more even skin tone.

Medical-strength skin peels will address the following skin concerns: uneven skin pigmentation, brown spots, age spots, melasma, rough or uneven skin texture, sun damage, acne, acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, rosacea, superficial blood vessel damage and pre-cancerous growths.

Skin peels are suitable for various areas, including: face, eyelids, neck, décolletage, bald head, torso, hands, arms and legs.

The strength of the peel solution affects the depth of the treatment and the degree of exfoliation.

Mild
Superficial peels penetrate the top layer of the skin known as the Stratum corneum. A mild peel will instantly refresh the skin, cleanse pores, soften fine lines, and improve skin texture and superficial pigmentary changes such as age spots.

Medium
Medium-strength skin peels penetrate the full level of the epidermis including the basal layer. These peels will resurface sun damaged skin; improve on texture roughness, large pores, dullness, fine lines and wrinkles, acne scarring and most pigmentation disorders.

Full-strength
Full-strength peels penetrate past the papillary dermis into the reticular dermis. These deeper treatments are effective in improving on pronounced hyperpigmentation, deep acne scarring, thickened and sun-damaged skin as well as resistant lines and wrinkles.

FAQs

As we age, skin cell turnover slows down and becomes less efficient at shedding the epidermal layer. This results in a dull, tired complexion with fine lines and blemishes beginning to appear. That along with decreased collagen and elastin production leads to aged skin. Most products only work on the skin’s surface layer. A chemical peel removes multiple layers of dead cells from the surface of the skin, revealing the healthy new cells underneath, resulting in a smoother, more youthful-looking complexion. A professional peel produces far more dramatic results than regular at-home exfoliation.

Depending on the strength and depth of the peel used, swelling, redness and a sensation of tightness will be experienced to varying degrees following the procedure. Within days, the outer layers of the skin will begin to peel off, a process that will continue over the following days. The skin’s condition will continue to improve during the weeks following the peel.

Both men and women benefit medically and aesthetically from chemical peels. A peel can be used as a single treatment or may be repeated monthly(or as often as required) as part of a personalized care regimen. Our esthetician will advise of the appropriate treatment during consultation.
