Spider Veins

A large percentage of men and women will deal with visible and unsightly veins on their legs. Superficial veins less than 3mm in diameter on the legs are often called spider veins. The most common treatments for spider veins include laser therapy and Sclerotherapy.

Sclerotherapy is best for fine purple veins.  However, dilated veins come in many shapes and sizes.  Laser works well for the smaller mat veins and vessels that are resistant to sclerotherapy.

Bulging vessels may protrude due to venous reflux disease. A vein specialist will evaluate the cause of the “leaking” and may use laser or heat inside the vessel to close them. Sclerotherapy will still be necessary to remove the fine lines.
