Baggy Eyelids

In our earlier years, the skin under the eyes is flat and has a naturally gentle, tense muscle tone. Age as well as other uncontrollable factors can cause muscles and skin to sag and fat to bulge out as a result. The most common names for the protrusion called blepharochalasis are under eye bag and baggy eyelid, this is a normal state caused by aging.
Bags appear under the eye because of pressure from the weight of lax muscles, ligaments that don't hold, and sagging skin walls. Baggy eyelids are sometimes caused by the accumulating of extra fat behind the support wall. Sometimes eye bags are caused by relaxed extra skin that needs to be tightened. Sometimes, it is also simply the result of thickened eye lid muscles. Bags on the upper eyelids can actually be the result of drooping eye brows. Treatment options include topical products to help tighten the sagging skin as well as laser treatments. Dermal fillers are often helpful if volume loss is present.
